When we bought the casa, we loved the large outside terrace space, tiled with teracotta tiles...
and for the first year, had lots of flower filled pots....we decided with the problems of watering these pots, to have a "flower bed" built....our mini garden now has fruit trees, an olive tree and lots of climbers...
For the first couple of years during the lovely hot summers, we have had an inflatable pool, and much fun was had by all....but we found it could only be used during June, July and August
In 2009, we decided to "splash out" and bought a jacuzzi...sheer luxury...
After much deliberation about size, colour, number of jets etc, we settled on one from The Spa shop in Mijas. The Manager there assured us that there would be no problem delivering and siting it on the rear terrace, and sure enough, on the day delivery was promised, a huge wagon with extending crane duly arrived, and lifted it high over the plot next foor and swung it into situ on the terrace...
At a constant 38 degrees...we used it all through the autumn and winter too, even on cold wintry days!
It certainly makes up for not having a bath to relax in, in the house!
To be able to use the jacuzzi in all weathers, to protect us not only from the rain, but also from the sun, we ordered a wooden pergola, to provide a canopy over the jacuzzi, manufactured and erected by a Spanish carpenter.
